Counselling & Music Therapy Services
Practices & Approaches
I offer counselling and music therapy services, in-person, virtually and by phone.
Please read below for details about therapy practices, offerings, and what you can expect.
Body-Based Therapy
Therapy often involves processing and learning about our experiences through talking about thoughts, feelings, and emotions.
We can also explore our experiences through the stories held in our bodies. I am currently training in sensorimotor psychotherapy, which uses a map called the “Core Organizers,” which looks at our experiences through a collection of our body sensations, movements, thoughts, emotions, and sensory experience.
Eye-Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing
EMDR is a form of therapy that utilizes bilateral stimulation (getting both sides of the brain working at the same time using eye movements or tapping) to facilitate memory processing and consolidation. EMDR can be a helpful approach for folks navigating anxiety, depression, PTSD/C-PTSD, OCD, and specific phobias.

Music Therapy
This can include music listening, music & imagery sessions (listening, drawing, and discussion), making or creating music, song-writing, and improvisation.
Through music, we can explore and gain a better understanding of our experiences, process thoughts and emotions, and build skills to help in daily life.
Creative Arts Therapies
This can include creative writing, art making, movement, dance, photography, and any creative practice that might be important or helpful for you.
What you can expect
Consultation Session
The typical starting point. This is a free, 60-min session that can take place in-person, virtually, or by phone. It’s a chance to meet, discuss the reason(s) you’re seeking therapy, pricing/insurance coverage, and next steps.
Starting Therapy
If it seems like a good fit, we can schedule a first session either in-person, virtually, or by phone. Each session is a space for you to explore whatever it is you may need or want to talk about. This means that therapy sessions with me are flexible and guided by you.
